First Aid At Work Course (3 Days)
First Aid at Work Course: Building Confidence When It Matters Most
Accidents and medical emergencies can occur at any time in any workplace. If they do, someone out there who knows what to do can make all the difference. A Three Day First Aid Course isn’t merely about earning a certificate. This is the confidence to act when someone is in need, to make decisions under pressure and to know how to act until medical help reaches them.
We feel that First Aid is one of the most important skills that anyone can learn in the workplace. This Three Day First Aid course is designed for anyone who works in a business environment, is a supervisor, is an employer or anyone who wants to enhance their professional skills to be better equipped to handle a variety of workplace emergencies.
Why First Aid Training Matters
Many companies are concerned with preventing accidents, and that’s a good thing. However, it is not enough to prevent the problem from occurring. The response to the incident can be a determinant of the outcome if the incident happens quickly enough and the response is of high quality. A trained first aider can play a vital role in ensuring the safety of colleagues, contribute to workplace safety, and give immediate first aid until the emergency services arrive.
Businesses do not depend on chance to make safer working conditions. They educate their people. This 3-day First Aid at Work Course is that.
The Three Pillars of Effective First Aid Training
A strong first aider isn’t defined by a single skill. Effective first aid training is built on three essential pillars:
- Recognition – Understanding what is happening and identifying signs of illness, injury, or distress quickly.
- Response – Taking the correct action calmly and confidently using proven first aid techniques.
- Responsibility – Knowing how to monitor casualties, record incidents, seek further assistance, and support workplace safety procedures.
These three pillars work together to help you respond effectively when every second counts.
A Practical Course Built for Real-World Situations
Our First Aid at Work Course is a blend of practical training and scenarios that are specific to the workplace for learners to understand not only what to do but why it’s important.
Over the three days, you will be taught how to evaluate situations, prioritise actions and provide care in a safe and structured manner. The training consists of a variety of typical workplace emergencies and medical incidents, which means you’ll leave with the skills you can use in real-life situations.
You’ll learn how to assist someone who is:
- Unresponsive and breathing
- Unresponsive and not breathing, including the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Choking
- Experiencing severe bleeding
- Suffering from shock
- Injured by burns or scalds
- Feeling faint
- Affected by poisoning
- Experiencing a head injury
- Showing signs of hypothermia or heat exhaustion
- Suffering injuries involving bones, muscles, joints, or the spine
The course also provides essential workplace first aid knowledge, including:
- Assessing a casualty safely and effectively
- Monitoring a casualty while waiting for further assistance
- Understanding when and where to seek help
- Responding to electrical incidents
- Accident recording and reporting procedures
- Understanding the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
Learning Through Practice
One of the biggest challenges people face during emergencies is uncertainty. Reading about first aid is one thing. Applying it in a real situation is another.
This course is designed to be hands-on, so you will be provided with ample opportunities. There will be opportunities to practise techniques, practice realistic scenarios and demonstrate understanding in a supportive training environment.
Our trainers will teach you to feel comfortable, capable and prepared, rather than only study for an exam and memorise information. The idea is straightforward: if a real emergency occurs, you will know what to do.
Supporting Safer Workplaces
All workplaces can be safer if they have trained First aiders.
First aid training for employers can enhance the safety of the workplace and show that they are dedicated to employee health and well-being. For people, it offers a useful qualification and the opportunity to develop practical skills which will help them in their daily lives, at work and beyond.
Several have finished this course in many different jobs and careers, including in offices, retail stores, construction, security, and more. The result on any job, no matter what, is always the same: increased confidence, increased preparedness, increased safety for all. This Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification is widely recognised and helps organisations meet workplace first aid requirements.
Course Assessment
Assessment is ongoing throughout the course, with practical demonstrations and written examinations. In this manner, you will not only learn the essentials of first aid but also be able to use them effectively in emergencies. Successful candidates will receive a recognised Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification upon completion.
