Onsite FREC 3 Requalification
Onsite FREC 3 Requalification for Your Team
Keep your qualified first responders current with FREC 3 requalification delivered at your organisation’s premises.
If your team already holds FREC 3 or FPOSi qualifications, letting certificates expire isn’t an option. Requalification needs to be completed before the current certificate runs out, and finding time to send staff away for three days can be difficult when they’re already working demanding roles.
Our onsite FREC 3 requalification course brings the training to your workplace. Your team can refresh their first response skills, complete the required assessments and work towards renewing their qualification without travelling to an external training centre.
Who Is This FREC 3 Requalification Course For?
This course is for individuals who already hold a FREC 3 or FPOSi qualification and need to renew it before expiry. Delegates must have a valid, unexpired FREC 3 or FPOSi certificate to attend.
It’s particularly useful for organisations with several qualified first responders who need to stay current. Training can be arranged at your premises, making it easier to plan around your team and the demands of your operation.
What Does the FREC 3 Requalification Course Cover?
The three-day course revisits the core areas covered in the original FREC 3 programme, while reinforcing essential skills and covering relevant updates where applicable. There’s plenty to work through, so the training is practical as well as knowledge-based.
Key areas include:
- The role and responsibilities of a first responder and assessing an incident
- Life-threatening and non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries
- Airway assessment and management, including AED use
- Emergency oxygen
- Trauma management, catastrophic bleeding, chest injuries and compromised circulation
- Wounds, eye injuries, burns, scalds and poisoning
- Head, spinal and musculoskeletal injuries
- Breathing difficulties, anaphylaxis, suspected major illness and convulsions
- Environmental exposure
- Adult and child resuscitation and CPR
Course Duration and Assessment
The FREC 3 requalification course runs over 3 days, with a minimum of 21 contact hours. It’s assessed throughout the course rather than leaving everything until the end.
Assessment includes:
- 6 practical assessments or skills tests
- 3 multiple-choice theory assessments
- 2 anatomy and physiology papers
- 1 invigilated examination
That allows learners to demonstrate that they can apply the skills, not simply recall the theory.
What Do You Gain After Requalification?
Successful completion leads to a renewed Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) certificate. The qualification is valid for three years from the date of issue.
There’s an important point here: there’s no grace period after a FREC 3 certificate expires. Requalification needs to be completed before the existing certificate reaches its expiry date.
So, if members of your team are approaching renewal, it’s worth getting the dates in the diary early.
Why Arrange FREC 3 Requalification Onsite?
For employers, keeping qualified staff available matters. Sending several people to different training locations can mean extra travel, scheduling headaches and more time away from their normal duties.
Onsite delivery gives you a simpler way to organise group training.
- Bring requalification to your own workplace
- Train members of your team together
- Reduce unnecessary travel
- Make planning around operational commitments easier
- Keep first responders qualified before their current certificates expire
Practical training. Less disruption.
