Onsite FREC 3
Onsite FREC 3 Training for Your Team
Give your team the skills to provide emergency care when it matters most, with FREC 3 training delivered at your premises.
When an emergency happens, there may be a gap between the incident and the arrival of an ambulance. For security teams, event medics and people working in higher-risk environments, that gap can be critical.
K4 Training’s onsite FREC 3 course gives your employees structured training in first response and pre-hospital emergency care, without requiring your whole team to travel to an external training centre. It’s a substantial qualification, going well beyond standard first aid.
Who Is Onsite FREC 3 Training For?
FREC 3 is designed for people who may need to provide emergency care before professional medical help arrives. That makes it particularly relevant to organisations working in environments where medical incidents can happen quickly and help may not be immediately available.
The course can suit:
- Security staff and close protection officers
- Event medics
- Police officers and firefighters
- Employees working in higher-risk industries
- Military and manufacturing personnel
- Teams responsible for emergency response within their organisation
It also forms part of a progressive pathway of pre-hospital care qualifications, with progression towards FREC 4 and beyond.
What Does the FREC 3 Course Cover?
This is not a basic first aid course. The training covers a much broader range of emergency care skills and situations.
Your team will learn about:
- The role and responsibilities of a first responder
- Assessing incidents and managing life-threatening and non-life-threatening conditions
- Airway management and AED use
- Administration of emergency oxygen
- Trauma assessment and management
- Catastrophic bleeding and compromised circulation
- Chest injuries
- Wounds, burns, scalds and eye injuries
- Poisoning and head, spinal and musculoskeletal injuries
- Breathing difficulties and anaphylaxis
- Suspected major illness and convulsions
- Environmental exposure
- Adult and child resuscitation, including CPR
The course is designed around situations where a first responder needs to assess what’s happening, make sensible decisions and provide appropriate care until further help arrives.
How Long Does Onsite FREC 3 Take?
The full course runs over 5 days, with approximately 10 hours of pre-course study completed through workbooks and an online portal.
That pre-course work is worth factoring into your planning, particularly when arranging training for several employees. We can help you understand what your team needs to complete before the onsite training begins.
What Will Your Team Gain?
FREC 3 gives employees a stronger foundation for dealing with serious incidents than standard workplace first aid alone. For your organisation, the benefits include:
- Develop first responders with broader emergency care skills
- Train several members of your team together at your premises
- Reduce travel and unnecessary time away from work
- Practise assessment and response across a wide range of incidents
- Give staff a recognised FREC 3 qualification
The qualification is clinically endorsed by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, part of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and awarded by Qualsafe.
FREC 3 Certification and Validity
Successful learners receive the Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF), awarded by Qualsafe. The qualification is valid for 3 years.
That gives organisations a clear qualification to work towards when developing employees responsible for emergency response.
